The Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, held a meeting with six researchers who had returned to the country after completing their research assignments at leading European universities.
Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Professor Rovnag Rzayev, Head of the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Associate Professor Tural Naghiyev, who conducted research at Ghent University in Belgium; researcher and PhD in Economics, Hasraddin Guliyev, who carried out research at Friedrich-Alexander University in Germany; Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Sugra Humbatova, and Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Vusala Teymurova, who conducted research at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli in Italy (Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli); and Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Ayten Niyazova, who carried out research at Yıldız Technical University in Turkiye, provided detailed information about their scientific work.
The researchers shared the scientific outcomes achieved at the host universities, the mechanisms for organizing research activities, the characteristics of the academic environment, and their experiences in international cooperation. They also expressed their views on the possibilities of applying these experiences at UNEC.
During the discussions, particular emphasis was placed on organizing international conferences in a debate format, establishing advanced and accessible data repositories for scientific research, ensuring that research activities are more practice-oriented and focused on solving concrete problems, and selecting doctoral candidates based on priority research areas.
In addition, in line with UNEC’s strategic objectives, the importance of establishing sustainable and purposeful cooperation with foreign universities, as well as continuing such research activities in a systematic manner throughout the year, was highlighted.
