The primary mission of the Department is to ensure the organization of teaching at UNEC on a digital basis by providing students and academic staff with a modern, flexible, and effective learning environment.

Within this mission, the Department strives to enhance the quality and accessibility of education through online and hybrid classes as well as electronic assessment systems. The digital education projects implemented at UNEC make a significant contribution to the development of digital education both nationally and internationally.

UNEC has identified the application of modern approaches within its education system as a priority. For this purpose, the Department for the Organization of Digital Education ensures the wide implementation of educational technologies by optimizing and developing the university’s teaching process in a digital environment.

The Department began its activities in 2016 under the name “Electronic University Unit” within the Center for Evaluation and Management of Teaching Quality. By the relevant order of UNEC dated 15 February 2024, it continued its work as the Education and Training Technologies unit of the UNEC Extern Teaching Center, and since 15 September 2025, it has operated under the name Department for the Organization of Digital Education.

The Department ensures the organization and monitoring of the university’s teaching process in a more flexible, accessible, and digital environment. The digital education initiatives implemented at UNEC serve the university’s digital transformation, which is essential for improving teaching quality and modernizing the educational environment.

The Department’s areas of activity are broad and include several
key directions. These comprise the management of the Electronic Teaching Management System EDUMAN, the selection and organization of hybrid classes, the organization of online classes,
the implementation of electronic assessment systems, and the organization of training programs aimed at enhancing the 

digital skills of academic staff, students, and administrative personnel in the use of learning management systems.
