General Provisions
1. The Department is a structural unit of the Institute of Economic Research operating under the University and is subordinate to the Rector of UNEC and the management of the Institute.
2. In carrying out its activities, the Department is guided by the legislation and normative legal acts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the internal regulations of the University, orders and instructions of the management, and decisions of the Academic Council, and operates on the basis of the Institute’s work plans and the assignments of the management.

Duties of the Department
• Ensuring the timely and duly executed implementation of the approved research plan.
• Coordinating research activities conducted by other organizations within the Republic in the field of social development issues.
• The results of the Department’s scientific activities are summarized in the form of reports, presentations, and briefing notes and submitted to the management of the University and the Institute.
• The Department submits a quarterly activity report to the Institute’s management at the end of each quarter and presents its work plan for the following year.
